  1. Generally, today's presentations were interesting and fun....started on a rather quiet note but ended with some 'hot' belly dancing!
    Some observations:
Some of you did not play a role in the presentation...as such it'd be difficult for me to evaluate you...you know who you are,so let me know what you want to do about it....
Please do not read from the slides.
Make sure the whole class is involved in the activities...let there not be a team A and a teamB!
Manage your time well...some groups finished ahead of time...
    GOOD LUCK !

  3. I observed that the majority of you feel that:
-the Americans do not have a culture...
-the Americans wear shoes inside their homes...
-it's so common for Americans to kiss and hug openly...for that matter,I've seen many students doing so in and around the campus.....!
Would like to read your comments on the above.

actually, the Americans do have culture. its just simply that their culture is quite different than ours, which makes us feel that they dont have culture. for example, in greetings; a simple hello or hi suffice while in many other cultures, there are people bending over, a hug, firm handshake, exchanges of gifts and so on. For example in Japan, lets talk about their public toilets. there, everyone gets butt naked inside, bathing, easing themselves and such. strangers can help soap u down. for the japanese, its normal. i got a shock when i was there. totally not our culture. culture varies with the ethnic and kinds of people. Also, Americans are not the only people who uses shoes inside their homes. I did the same thing when i was in Australia, cause my uncle said so. it was a norm there, using shoes inside the house, but not everyone. there are those who are barefoot inside their houses.kissing and hugging openly, that's also something which is on a widespread. for them, it means a way of showing affection, and not afraid or shy to do so. it rubs on in our malaysian surrounding nowadays, and as always, we follow the westerners.
